Van Buren County Run
I stopped at this business to start my run. Nice quiet parking lot on the west side of the loop that I was planning on completing. I was hoping that I could see Lake Michigan as some point during this run.
I started by heading south on this main road. It had just finished raining hard.
I took another shot of flowers but this time tried to get closer to the flowers. There were so many I wanted to get close, but also to show how many there were. There was probably double or triple what is shown.
Found this screwdriver along this road and was happy when I found it.
The sun was going down. I was looking west (towards Lake Michigan). What a great shot.
I took this shot about 3/4 of the way south on the main road.
Here I am close to the turning point where I would head north on another road with homes on Lake Michigan. So I’m running and carrying a screwdriver and my phone.
Toward the south part of this road, there was some building with, I’m assuming, plants.

This was a place that looked like it was open to the public. A way of accessing the Lake, I was super tired and decided not to explore it.
This was some type of community with a bunch of upscale housing.
I could see a home on the Lake at the end of this road.
Here is another shot of the road heading north. I noticed a deep hole on the left side of the road. Sure enough, there was a small creek at the bottom.
Then I found this road and thought that I might get a look at the Lake if I ran down to the end of this road.
You could see the Lake but not well, but you could see these upscale homes very well.
All this time, I had been running with the found screwdriver in my hand, and I passed a few locals that probably wondered why I was carrying a screwdriver.
The photo above looks like a hops garden.
Here you could see Lake Michigan, but again not well.
Here is a home close to the road and you could see the Lake behind it. What a great place!
After I turned the corner heading east, I found this place with concrete sculptures all over. It looks like Mike has a business here. The great site was a cool finish to this run.
No plan other than wanting to knock another county off the map. I finished my business in Indianapolis and was on my way home around 3 pm. I was exhausted from the day’s work and my two runs yesterday. I decided I would only knock one run-off on the way home as it was getting dark when I arrived in Michigan. It was raining hard when I arrived at the place I first planned to run. I decided to drive another 15 minutes and see if it would let up.
I stopped at a gas station, and the rain had almost stopped. I filled up my tank and went inside to get something to eat, and it started pouring again. However, when I drove to the place that I found on the map on my iPhone, it had cleared up.
